BBC Radio Drama Review
~Special thanks to Tianlet for contributing her views and opinions on the BBC Radio Dramas

The only ones I've heard are the BBC ones.  If you want to know about Focus on the Family ones, Tracy from Dancing Lawn is the one to ask.

Ok, the ones I heard were great.  The first couple, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe for instance, could have been better.  Tom Pitchen was Peter Pevensie, and I didn't really like his voice (people pronouncing Narnia Nonyah has always been a pet peeve of mine, but for all I know C. S. Lewis himself pronounced it that way).

Now, Prince Caspian was excellent.  Richard Puttyfoot does an admirable Caspian X, and the sound effects were brilliant.  My personal favorite was The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.  Eustace is perfectly abominable, of course, and while I think they could have left out the bit where he throws up, the sound of the sea monster was great and Eustace as a dragon is very dragonish.

The Silver Chair, well, the Green Witch is uh, charming (so to speak) and that's not exactly how I expected Rilian to sound.  Nonetheless,  they did a good job on it.

The Horse and His Boy was also very good.  I really like Shasta and Aravis and whoever did Edmund all grown up sounded exactly like I would think a young but mature king ought to...

The Last Battle was magnificent.  The sound effects, the Ape was suitably nasty-- throughout all of them they stayed true to the books.  I guess that's the most important thing.  The characters talked like they should (these dramas are abridged) and they just did a good job.

Oh, nearly forgot to mention the Magician's Nephew.  The best part was when they were coming up out of the pools and when Digory struck the golden bell.  The bell got so loud my ears nearly popped!
